Its not often I put up a journal containing an update on where my life is at. So here you go...
Well in the last month or so I've moved up a little in Citrix (The company I work for), not in title but in job responsibility and tasks. I'm a Team Leader now. I look after the Legacy/Regression Test Team. The team currently consists of three full-time members and one three month intern. We basically test existing features (Stuff that was in the previous release), in as yet to be released new software. It’s not on the bleeding or indeed cutting edge (Pardon the pun), but still just as important. As a Team Leader I generally drink lots of coffee/tea, assign work, make sure everyone completes their work on time, help out the team where I can, write reports, test a bit and order people about etc...

I guess I was a natural choice as I have tested pretty much all of the software produced by Citrix in the UK. I even get some training in handling difficult conversations, team building and team dynamics. I'm enjoying it, although it will only be for another year or so.
That brings me on to the other, much more important part of this update

You all know Jamie and I are engaged. You probably also know that I plan to move over to the US as soon as possible. Well hopefully that will be next year. If all goes well I am gonna leave Citrix either June 2007 or December 2007, depending on the visa application process. I really can't wait! I'm saving as much as I can for the move, I'm gonna need all the money I can save while looking for a job over there. I would like to go into tech support unless the right test job comes along. I've kinda had enough of testing

We're not sure yet where we'll be living - as long as it has air con, a good job market, some nice places to eat and is within a short drive of Jamie's parents, I think Jamie and I would be happy
So what else? Well I sold my Sigma 50mm Macro. I plan to get a Nikon 60mm Macro the next time I am in the US, which will be October of this year, for three weeks!

Oh and I am still reading Terry Pratchett's "THUD!” Although I haven't picked it up for over a month!
Hmmm, I think I am outta news now. Time to go...

And once when you look death in the face."
